Mauvaise surprise ce matin en cliquant sur le bouton "play" de mon Winamp: Il refusait de se connecter au flux TSF Jazz.
Et moi, sans musique et surtout sans TSF Jazz, impossible de travailler.

Alors, par acquis de conscience, je suis passé par leur site. L'URL du flux a tout simplement changé !
Pour surfer en musique, il vous désormais passer par là

Une réunion de très grands musiciens. Un enregistrement de légende. Un des plus grands moments de l'histoire du jazz...Enregistré pour passer à la télévision en plus !

Ce 4 décembre 1957, Billie Holiday est là. Assise sur un tabouret. Presque avachie. Plus que deux ans à vivre. Mais déjà morte à l'intérieur depuis bien longtemps.
Autour, les musiciens. Tous ces maîtres rassemblés pour elle. Certains sont ses anciens amants. L'affiche ? Une sorte de hall of fame du jazz: Roy Eldridge à la trompette, Coleman Hawkins, Leste Young et Ben Webster aux saxophones, Vick Dickenson au trombone, le tout jeune Gerry Mulligan au baryton sax, Mal Waldron au piano, Milt Hinton à la basse, Danny Barker à la guitare et OC Johnson à la batterie.

Dès les premières mesures, la magie opère. Evidemment.
Sa voix sort. Brisée, souffrante, fatiguée. Tellement belle. Tellement touchante.
Alors, les solistes se mettent au niveau. Les solos sont tous magnifiques. Et tous déchirants. Lester Young, le "Prez", ancien amant de Billie, lui aussi en fin de vie, s'arrache et sort un solo magnifique. Comme tous les autres.

Elle, elle chante magnifiquement. Mais son regard n'est pas là. Il n'est déjà plus là. Comme son sourire.
Son sens du rythme, lui, est intact. Malgré la drogue et l'alcool.

Attention, chef-d'oeuvre !
Définitivement un des morceaux du CD que j'emménerais sur une île déserte.
